Discussed his desire for a government appointment with Mr. Thomas Robison, "the most respectable Character in this place, with whom I have been upon very friendly Terms." While Robison wanted to help him, he had previously promised to support Mr. Lunt, who is already Collector in the Impost Office, in maintaining his position.
