It was the first time she had ever organized anything on such a large scale (200 guests attended). A million things went wrong (props, lights), but in spite of everything it was funny and the audience laughed and applauded. Tells him that her sister Mad helped her very much with the play.

Letter is decorated with hearts which Sylvia says are her first installment on Valentine's Day. She tried sending him the New York Times, but it keeps coming back to her. Also, talks about the new found freedom that women now have. She mentions that when she is out with the girls, she does not "have to rush home immediately." But for her, things can be adjusted easily because she would prefer to rush home but for others, "it may become a habit- not easily broken." Went over to the Selective Service Board after dinner.

Had dinner with Moe's mother. Reports on his Mom and Dad and family.

Talks about his complaining on how eggs are served in the Army, both in England and at Fort Lewis. Is sorry he is not getting her letters sooner and will try to write some more V-mails, as they seem to arrive more regularly than letters.
