A print of a photograph taken near Corinth, Kentucky in October 1862. Image shows a large assemblage of troops stretching across the entire photograph. A few soldiers sit in the shade under trees next to horses in the foreground, apart from the assembled troops. Published in Photographic History of the Civil War (2:161) which describes the image as : "With arms stacked, the soldiers are gathered about an improvised stand sheltered with a canvas, listening to a speech upon a burning question of the hour -- the employment of colored troops in the field. . .
