A print of a photograph taken in Corinth, MS during the Civil War. Image of well constructed buildings made from planks. Railroad tracks run in the foreground. This was the camp of the 57th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment from October 1862 to November 1863. On verso: purple ink inscription on adhered tag: "No 21. Winter quarters 57th Illinois. Shown also in No. 16 from a different point."; inscriptions in graphite: "VIII", "21 Armstead," "Winter [illegible,]" and "154."; and stamps of the Century Co. On recto, in graphite from top left: "2753 Final," "258," "-13 1/2- shift negative in middle," and "Camp of the 57th Ill. Infantry, Corinth, MS [used as title]."
