Relates that Canfield is "confident you have been deceived by others, as to the evidence which can be adduced against him; and that you will be satisfied, when the trials are over, if not before, that the prosecutions were without cause."

A letter from Perdicaris to Holabird is included on the same page, stating that the State Department requires Holabird to approve Perdicaris's bond.
