Title: to Eliakim P. Scammon
First telegram is written from Gauley, West Virginia by Hayes advising that they will try to keep ready but that three companies are at Tompkins Farm. The second telegram is written by Reuben L. Nye, Captain and Judge Advocate to Scammon asking if there is further testimony available in the case of a man named Powers, who stole a horse. Asks who arrested him.
