Notes that "my health is not improving and I now weigh one hundred and forty pounds last winter I weighed one hundred and eighty nine." Also informs her that he is in command of the picket.

Knox writes: "Ensign Lyman of the 2d Massachusetts regiment hereby has leave of absence for the recovery of his health which when reestablished he is to join his regiment.
