Jones, born ca. 1833-1835 Wayne, MI, was the son of DeGarmo Jones, Mayor of Detroit in 1839 as well as a businessman and industrialist. Grave and genology records record Jones the younger dying in the summer of 1864. Jones had served as Assistant Adjutant-General of Michigan (likely the militia or reserve army).
