Title: Testimony regarding the Livingston's rights to Taghkanic and the Manor

In the trial of Robert and Johannis Van Deusen v. Josiah Loomis, Francis Salisbury states that the late Robert Livingston was the first patentee of the Manor of Livingston over 60 years ago, and that the land has remained in the possession of his heirs and successors until the present time. He also states that he is familiar with the tracts of land that comprise the Manor, and that the entire Manor lies within the county of Albany, and the province of New York.

In the trial of Robert and Johannis Van Deusen v. Josiah Loomis, Leendert Konyn states that he has lived on the Manor of Livingston since the age of ten, and has always been aware that the land first belonged to the late Robert Livingston, the first lord and proprieter of the Manor, over 60 years ago. The land has since passed ot his heirs and successors, and is situated within the county of Albany and the province of New York.

Josiah Loomis, Jacob Decker and James Forder state that "Josiah Loomis told these Deponents that he had agreed with Robert Livingston Junr Esquire to plant Indian Corne on a Farm at Taghknaick for the Support of his family but that he the said Loomis was by the said Agreement not to plan the said farm in the ensuing Fall for the sewing of wheat but to leave the said Farm as soon as the said Robert Livingston Junr should order him so to do."

In the trial of Robert and Johannis Van Deusen v. Josiah Loomis, Charels DeWitt declares that the late Philip Livingston rented a piece of land in Taghkanic to Josiah Loomis. He further states that he informed Loomis of Robert Livingston, Jr.' s orders that he should remove himself from the land, to which Loomis replied that he was prepared to move from the house, but not from the land.

Title: Response to accusations of trespassing

Robert and Johannis Van Deusen state that the site on which their alleged act of trespass took place was a tract of land that had been seized from Robert Livingston, Jr. Robert Van Deusen signed the statement with his mark. Pages 2 and 3 are further statements regarding Robert Livingston, Jr.'s rights to Taghkenic, and whether Taghkenic is located in the province of New York or Massachusetts. The statements are signed "Worthingham & Hawley for the Plaint."
