Lucy writes to her sister-in-law in Antigua. Notes that the Thybou family, now in New York, are returning to Antigua. Lucy transmits this letter with the Thybous, along with a barrel of beef, "being told that good beef cannot be purchased in your island." Is eager to hear from Sarah after the "dog days." Remarks that Henry is visiting their lands (in present-day Maine). Sends her regards to Sarah's children.

The first letter, dated 13 February 1789, from Worcester Shire, England, from Thomas Compson, asks his brother Joseph to pay Samuel Ogden a sum of money due Ogden from a debt owed by their father. The next notes, written on 10 July 1789 and 25 June 1789, contain details of the transaction written by Joseph Brettall, agent of Joseph Compson, and signed also by William Gibson, Notary Public, and Henry Gibson and Robert Johnson, witnesses. Discusses legislation allowing them to sell the deeds. Comments on how best to proceed with the sales, as well as on how to handle pricing and payment. Encloses (not included) an extract of a letter from Mr. [Samuel] Ogden. Parkman apparently owes his share of funds for iron that was paid for, in part, by Major [Samuel] Shaw. Knox says that the iron can likely be procured in Boston, but might be procured in New York, on three months's credit. Declares that it would be an unfortunate circumstance if the ship should suffer for want of iron. Offers to help procure it in New York if Parkman cannot in Boston.

States that Jacob Greeley took up arms in July 1801 to liberate prisoners, and that some of his fellow insurectionists now wish to nominate him so that he "may be made a justice." The docket is on a separate peice of paper.

Wishes help in settling disputes with those living on his lands in the Waldo patent. Also addresses to "Major Bracket and the reverend Thurston Whiting." Recent attacks on his surveyors have been made by neighbors worried he may encroach on their land. Asks Thomas, Bracket and Whiting to go to the towns on his land, and convince the residents that he has there best interestest in mind. Also asks them to accompany those surveying his land and report any violence, so the government can act to stop the attacks. Also discusses the history and details of his lands.

Pettition requesting that the Masschusetts government protect his lands against hostile squatters who live nearby, and who have repeatly attacked his surveyors and threatened violence to his lands. States that the government has promised protection, and has previously aided him, but that his lands remain threatened. Details the history of the attacks on his lands, and the opposition of these squatters and neighbors. Written some time shortly after August 1801.
