Title: An Appendix to the Notes on Virginia Relative to the Murder of Logan's Family

Printed by Samuel H. Smith. Jefferson's separately printed appendix to his Notes on Virginia, containing the evidence upon which he charged Capt. Cresap with the murder of Logan's family and other peaceful Indians. The appendix was printed to respond to the charge that Jefferson had invented the narrative that appeared in the "Notes" to cover for a speech made by Logan. The account stands as a famous appeal for fairness to the Indians. The map is a rather sparse representation of Pittsburgh and the region west to the Ohio River. Howes J74 ("aa"). Sabin 35880. Title: Justice the issue! Shall Sacco and Vanzetti be judicially murdered?

This document is a printed broadside put out by the Sacco-Vanzetti Defense Committee which attacks the exclusive judgment of Judge Webster Thayer and says in part: "The issue is not only for Massachusetts. It is for America. The world will judge American ideals of justice on this case." Dating based on mention of an execution date of 10 July, but they were actually executed on 23 August 1927. With imprint of Allied Printing Tades Council, Boston.

This document is a printed broadside that quotes a columnist from the New York World and reads, "What more can these immigrants from Italy expect? it is not every prisoner who has a President of Harvard University throw on the switch for him." Sacco and Vanzetti were executed on 23 August 1927. The quoted man is Heywood Broun.

Title: The official bulletin of the Sacco-Vanzetti defense committee [Vol. I, no. 15 (September 1927)]

Newspaper or newsletter issued after the execution of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. The first page has a printed statement denouncing the execution of Sacco and Vanzetti and comparing the case to the Salem witchcraft trials. The rest of the newspaper contains articles defending Sacco and Vanzetti and pledging to continue the fight. The last letters of the two men are printed on pages 7-8. Scattered quotations include the Governor of Massachusetts, Alvan T. Fuller, "Thank God it is all over!" and Judge Webster Thayer, "Did you see what I did to those anarchistic bastards?".

Partially printed form on first page stating that Diehl, a Notary Public for Pennsylvania, at the request of James Warrington, went to collect payment of a promissory note of John Nicholson, but found the business closed. States that he left notice of this at the house of Robert Morris, the endorser of the note. The second page is a copy of a note dated 15 March 1795 signed by a secretary for Morris and Nicholson promising to pay $5000. Blind stamp of notary on front.
