Received his recent letter. Mentions that Mr. Stedman, the bearer of this letter, has recently arrived from Detroit. Stedman can provide Knox with an account of the happenings there. Relates news that a Cayuga Indian carried off books and papers and took them to Quebec. Would be happy to provide intelligence on the Indians to Knox when he needs it. Describes fighting with the British and the Indians in Detroit. Considers treaty possibilities, as well as how the fur trade will be affected.
