Includes a fragment possibly removed from this document with the notation "fragment text does not match document text."

Written in Latin on parchment with a fabric ribbon attached. Accompanied by English translation. William Ellery graduated from Harvard College in 1747. A Member of the Continental Congress from 1776 until 1785, Ellery was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Clap signs as President of Yale College.

Title: [Empowering an attorney to sell lands from the the estate of the late Thomas Flucker]

Two related legal statements on the same sheet, signed by Knox twice and witnessed and signed twice by Justice of the Peace Josiah Reed. In the first part of the document (pages 1-2), Knox, acting as executor of the estate of the late Thomas Flucker, grants Daniel Davis of Portland, Maine, power of attorney to sell lands from the estate. The second part (page 3) gives Davis power to sell an additional plot of land. The last page has an autograph note by Isaac Leslie indicating the document was recorded in the Cumberland County, Maine. Flucker was Knox's father-in-law.

Blanckley), France (Dubois as Chargee for Napoleon), Spain (Alonso Intur[?], Sweden (A. M. Fraissinitt [?]), Denmark (Georg Frederik Ulrich) and Holland ([illegible]).

Fulton Writes to Stanhope to tell him about how well received his own ideas about canals have been in France, and to convince Stanhope that the British need to adopt his plans as well. Claims that his "small system of canals" will make fortunes for countries that use them, prove vital to trade, and simplify taxation and systems of government. Says he has enclosed two long letters explaining his new system of canals (GLC04661.02 and GLC04661.03). Asks Stanhope to see that the letters are published, so that his ideas can become popular in England.

The collection contains 125 letters of Charles E. Walbridge, of Buffalo, New York, to his mother. Two stray items are at the end of the inventory: an undated letter to his mother and a letter to Minnie Walbridge, his sister (#126). The letters cover Walbridge's recruitment in New York and his service in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. Although he enlisted as a member of the 100th New York Volunteers, Walbridge repeatedly served in the quartermaster's department, and eventually became Chief Quartermaster on General Truman Seymour's staff. The collection consists of 71 letters to his sister, 2 letters of his sister to Charles Walbridge, and 1 letter from Leon Brown to Louise Walbridge. Charles Walbridge served in the 100th New York Volunteer Regiment and later as a quartermaster. He saw service at many places in Virginia, South Carolina, Florida and North Carolina.
