Title: [Petition for proection of his lands from the government of Massachusetts]

Pettition requesting that the Masschusetts government protect his lands against hostile squatters who live nearby, and who have repeatly attacked his surveyors and threatened violence to his lands. States that the government has promised protection, and has previously aided him, but that his lands remain threatened. Details the history of the attacks on his lands, and the opposition of these squatters and neighbors. Written some time shortly after August 1801.

Reports on the plans and whereabouts of the insurgents on the Waldo patent who have attacked and threatened Henry Knox's surveyors. The report was written for the surveyors, in order to help them avoid attack. Writes, "I would long ago have sent you the Irish Editions you wanted but on examining found I had no quantity to make up a parcell [sic]... I now trouble you with 6 Dozen of my almanack with a list of the whole American Army Subalterns included which never was done before & will be much demanded by the military..."
