Says he received a letter from Trenchard that said he was making soundings one mile below Aikins[?], but that he is on his way to Richmond.

Attached to the Hcms Squadron during the Mexican War, he took part in operations against Tampico, Tuspan, Vera Cruz, Tobasco, Seven Palms and Alvarado. Confirms that he well send subsequent letters to Knox at his lodgings at Samuel Ogden's home.
