Includes a partially printed document signed 1 March 1870 by C. E. Evans, who asserts that his wife M. W. Evans lost a wool shawl, coat, cape, and head dress at the Inaugural Reception and Ball held 4 March 1869. Brown signs, attesting that the prices Evans cited for his missing articles are just.
