Convers states that although he originally asked to purchase a piece of land to the north, that land is so close to Ephram Reynolds's estate that it would be best if Reynolds had that land himself. He therefore describes a different tract of land to the east and asks if he could have that one instead. The docket acknowledges that Robert, Jr. consented to the proposition. John explains how one of his enslaved people accidently set a closet on fire with a candle. A table, linens, and napkins were destroyed, but it was put out before more any more serious damage occurred.

Title: to "his Lordship" re: incomplete sale of cattle

Robert, Jr. expresses his annoyance with "his Lordship," who ordered a large quantity of cattle and then decided not to complete the transaction. Robert, Jr. consents to follow "his Lordship's" desire, but "wished my Lord had been pleased to have suffer'd me at Least to Compleat that Engagement." He also expresses concern for his country's security, and "fear[s] we shall never live in peace till Canada be in our possession."

Title: to Brother Livingston re: invitation to live among his brothers and sisters

Robert, Jr. writes that the recent deaths of both his mother and his eldest son Philip have been most difficult to endure, and he hopes that the familial bond between him and his brother remain in tact. He then invites his brother to come and live among all of their siblings, where he will have money, land, and a secure occupation. Robert, Jr. also states that his sons Walter and Peter are succeeding in their education.
