D.Witt informs Philip of various business matters on the Manor. He warns Philip that a certain Mr. Hoffman sells his wheat most dishonestly, and strives only to make things difficult for them. D.Witt also notes that the dam at So[d]us is nearly completed, and he advises Philip to employ some German workers to finish the job.

The document outlines the terms of Philip Livingston's lease of a tract of land on the Manor of Salomon Schutte. According to the lease, Schutte is expected to maintain and develop the land in a specified manner, use the Livingston's mill, sell his grain to the Livingston's first, and to perform military service, among a number of other things.

Banyar declares that Cornelius Clopper, John Richard, and John Clopper appeared before him and swore that they saw Philip Livingston sign his will while he was still alive and of sound mind. They therefore declare that the will dated the 1 July 1748 is the true will of Philip Livingston. This is followed by another statement dated the 5 July 1748 in which Banyar declares that 5 executors of the will of Philip Livingston appeared before him and swore to execute and perform the said will.

Title: Last will and testament of Philip Livingston

Philip Livingston bequeathed unto his oldest son Robert Junior all lands, tenements, and mills on the Manor, a house in Albany, and his enslaved people and livestock. He notes, however, that if he should die between February and September, Robert is to allow his mother (Catharine Livingston) and the younger children to use to mill to prepare all their wheat and cornell. To his wife, Philip leaves the remainder of his estate, and entrusts her with the education and welfare of their two daughters. Upon Catharine's death, her portion of the estate is to be divided up among the younger sons.…

Philip reminds Robert to mind his studies now, or he will grow to regret it when it is too late to learn. He asks if Philip would like to return to New Rochelle next winter, and if he gets along with his Master and Mistress. Philip also reminds Philip to read the Bible, to send his mother a letter in French, and to send him a letter every week so that he may observe how Robert's hand improves.

Philip admonishes Robert for not writing to his father in his spare time, and states that he would like Robert to master the French language by the end of the year. He therefore advises Robert to remain in New Rochelle and "keep close to [his] book." It is also noted that Jennet Beeckman passed away.
