Two parts. First part is addressed to Benjamin Walker and discusses a deed to land. Notes he received Walker's letter pertaining to the St. Lawrence lands. Mentions he has repeatedly asked Duer for copies of several notes but that Duer has been unable to locate them. Also discusses Madam de Leval's intention of applying to the Massachusetts Legislature regarding her land claim. Believes if that were to happen the contract will likely be lost. Second part is a copy of a receipt written in Knox's hand from William Duer. Confirms Duer's receipt of money from Knox.

Reports that Madame Leval "has been endeavoring to make such negotiations as would exonerate you from all responsibility, but Hither to without effect." She is trying to change the agreement, which may go into effect before Walker's has to make payments. At present she wants $40,000, which Knox thinks she will not get.

Signed by Knox and Isaac Winslow Jr., though both signatures, as well as the letter's content, are in Knox's hand. Document serves as an agreement between Winslow and Knox on the one part (as legal heirs of Brigadier General Samuel Waldo), and the inhabitants of Warren on the other part, regarding value and of land in that portion of the Waldo patent.

A letter to the citizens of Waldoborough, Maine regarding supplying the citizens with written warrantee deeds. The letter describes the terms of the agreements including payment terms and resources on the land such as lumber and cattle. Written from St. Georges River, possibly present day Thomaston, Maine. A portion of another letter is pasted on the last page of the letter.

Title: [Ducktrap settlers' petition to Knox]

Signed by Pottel and fifteen others. Settlers on Knox's Ducktrap lands (in present-day Maine) apply to him for relief "as children to a Parent." Recently signed a contract requiring them to pay for the land. Complain they did not have time to consider the details of the contract. Attest that they previously paid for the land, and should not have to pay again. Express worry that they have little or no provision to support their families through the winter. Threaten to seek the protection of the General Court if Knox refuses to give them relief.

Document is signed by Henry Knox and various other people. A land agreement between Henry Knox and the inhabitants of Owls Head, Maine. Knox agrees to supply the inhabitants who agree to his terms with warranty deeds. The land is being sold for four shillings an acre or 2/3 of a dollar per acre. The document contains the full terms of the agreement along with details about surveying the land. Document appears to be a duplicate of GLC02437.09200.

Knox informs White that Knox has received from Nathan Dane, John Sprague, and Enoch Titcomb "commissioners of the legislature to whom were referred the terms on which certain settlers within the Waldo Patent were to be quieted each in one hundred acres of land." White will be "entitled to a deed of your lot in New-Canaan" if White pays Knox the $85 with interest that he owes Knox.

Received Wendell's letter of 27 April, which offered to sell Knox 2,500 acres of land in the Muscongus Patent (a portion of the Waldo Patent). Says he would not be unwilling to buy the land at a good price, but that it would be "improper" to do so. Tells Wendell that he should not feel "under the least engagement to me" and that he should get the best price he can for the land. Pencil note below docket says "Recd from Mrs. Husther(?)
