Marked as a copy. Knox attests that he ordered the creation of an ordnance and military stores return. Adds, "But from the confused state in which the British stores were, and even our own, which were divided in the trenches, at the Park, and on board the vessells, it is probable there might have been considerable errors..." Mr. Jones, deputy field commissary, also acknowledged the possibility for errors in the initial return.

Resolution of the United States Continental Congress on half-pay commutation signed by Charles Thomson as Secretary of Congress. Instead of half-pay, the officers were given five years full pay in money or securities on 6 percent annual interest. Says the various officers can collectively agree or disagree with the resolution within six months time. Docketed by Henry Knox on verso as "An Act of Congress the 22nd March 1783 for commuting the half pay, pledged to the Army - A certified copy."

Reports that the return of stores Knox requested is impossible because Colonel Stevens (possibly Ebenezer Stevens, who was Colonel in Lamb's regiment) did not make an account of the stores on the vessels. Informs Knox that Captain Duncan has arrived with howitzers and carriages.
