Bingham has anxiously awaited a reply from Knox. Bingham is happy to learn that Knox "arrangements with most of your Creditors and that you are likely to be relieved from your temporary Embarassments." Bingham asks Knox if he would consult with attorney Mr. Davis regarding a lawsuit involving Bingham and confiscation of cargo on neutral vessel "in the last War." Bingham's feeling are terribly hurt by this matter and points out that there have not been any documents shown to the court to prove the plaintiff's claims.
