Details that they have been ordered to reinforce General John Pope's army at Rappahannock Station. Describes a battle, noting that his troops were commanded by General Irvin McDowell, who "made a regular piece of botched work out of it." Notes that General John Reynolds, "whose got command of the Division brought us up to time..." States that he is glad General George McClellan is in command. Written in pencil.

Asks that they direct their letters to the U.S. General Hospital, Newton University in Baltimore, Maryland.
