Laundry bill from time at Valley Forge. The total was for slightly over 17 dollars. Gives a detailed list of items and how much each cost to clean. Docket notes that this includes "5 Dozzen Clothes for Mrs Knox a Dollar pr Dozzen." Shaw also had washing done. It is noted on the document that Katy the washwoman was the wife of Marshall Saxe.

Title: Muster Roll of Captain Samuel Pages Company of Massachusetts Bay Regiment of Foot in the Service of the United States Commanded by Colonel Benjamin Tupper all engaged for the term of three years Taken for the month of March

Lists officers and soldiers under the command of Captain Samuel Page as a part of the 11th Massachusetts Regiment stationed at Valley Forge as of April 7, 1778. The 11th Massachusetts was a par of Patterson's Brigade. Four Sergeants, Three "Corprels", Twenty-Seven Privates, and One Drum & Fife Boy are listed. The document is signed by Captain Samuel Page and Lieutenant John Foster and dated to April 7, 1778. The document is docketed on verso. Notes are made in a separate column concerning the specific assignments of each soldier in the Company.

Large skirmish with Cornwallis, question of parole for Burgoyne & Burgoyne's new opinion that Britain cannot win and should grant America its independence, and self-criticism for problems taking supplies from inhabitants: "I confess, I have felt myself greatly embarrassed with respect to a vigorous exercise of military power. An ill place humanity perhaps and a reluctance to give distress may have restrained my too far...."; sensitive to evils of "Jealousies of military power."
