That letter received no answer, so they are repeating its contents in this letter. They are writing in their capacity as committee members appointed by the directors of the Middlesex Canal Company. List of fruit trees to be delivered to the site of his future house (Montpelier). Includes 200 apple trees, 100 pear trees, 50 peach trees, 50 cherry trees, as well as 200 currant and gooseberry bushes. Mentions cuttings of grape vines, 30 locust trees, a weeping willow tree, and various nut trees will be sent. Place written was made Boston because other letters (GLC02437.05952) show that Knox was there on this date.

A journal taken while surveying the Waldo patent, along with Captain Jonathan Hill, Surveyor, for Henry Knox. Written in various locations throughout Maine. Contains "A General description of the land - the Situation - the Various Soils, Timber Rivers Ponds and Principal Stream upon the Patent." Notes that they are being prevented from surveying the shore near Ducktrap by Samuel Ely and his disciples, under the threat of severe punishment. Last entry dated 12 August 1793.

Discusses a trip to western Pennsylvania, where McClure stopped at Fort Pitt before heading further west to serve as missionary to the Delaware Indians in a town on the Muskingum River in Ohio. Gives his thoughts on the regional geography, the fort, and the Indians (both their vices and potential to "become a people"). M'Clure was a doctor of divinity who taught at Dartmouth College. M'Clure spells his name Maccluer.
