Adds, "Do you feel like marching down there and whipping some of those Southerners? I am looking every day to hear that war has commenced and I fear if it does that there will be blood shed for some time."

Letter has the logo of the "U.S. Christian Commission," which was a women's organization formed in 1861 to distribute Bibles, goods and supplies to the Union army.

She will be going to the Draft Board again tonight, has a very difficult interview to conduct.

Then goes to his mother's for dinner, stops at Bess M's house and then home. Left his parents the picture he had sent her of himself. Received his letters from London. Hopes he didn't find the bombing of London too terrible, knows he can't mention it in his letters.
