The Governor of New York notes that he ordered munitions stored near Oswego and orders Hopper to send muskets, cartridges, and powder from those stores to use to defend Oswego, New York, if attacked. Oswego was attacked and captured by the British on 6 May 1814. Tompkins later became vice president.

Mountford describes attempted assassination of the Dey of Algiers by four Turkish soldiers "each armed with two pistols, a Carbine & an atagon . . . . His attendants were at the distance of 60 yards & instantly ran to his assistance, and stoned to death, three of these assassins on the spot . . . . A more miraculous escape never happened." The "King of England, had observed in his last speech to parliament, that negociations for peace were on foot, between his nation & France." Mountford was Lear's secretary in Algiers. States that the pickets are watching it but he feels that "...an enemy wishing to cross and advised of the position of our pickets would first capture the pickets, which could as they are now posted be easily done..." Title: [Deposition of Clark concerning the murder of two Indians, signed with his mark]

Clark signed with his mark "J." Clark was servant to Ebenezer Hall at Montinicus Island and saw Hall and his son shoot two Indians in the Summer in 1751 and bury them in his garden. The deposition says "The Examinant afterwards saw Hall cut the Indians Canoe in Peices [sic] and burn it, saying, Now we have killed the Devils, we shall burn their damn'd Canoe; The Indians Cloaths were buried with their Bodies, Their Guns Hall put into his Chest, & afterwards carried them to Small Point. About a Week after the Indians were killed, Hall & his Son said that they would go to Virginia."…

Davis writes that Sidi Ahmet's brother is willing to pay Ahmet's debts even though he "expressed some surprise at the present extent of your debts expecially as you had so recently stated them at only about one fifth of their existing amount." Davis also reports that Jusuf Bashaw Caramanli will send "cloathing [sic], servants and arms" to Sidi Ahmet.
