Title: [Deposition of Clark concerning the murder of two Indians, signed with his mark]
Clark signed with his mark "J." Clark was servant to Ebenezer Hall at Montinicus Island and saw Hall and his son shoot two Indians in the Summer in 1751 and bury them in his garden. The deposition says "The Examinant afterwards saw Hall cut the Indians Canoe in Peices [sic] and burn it, saying, Now we have killed the Devils, we shall burn their damn'd Canoe; The Indians Cloaths were buried with their Bodies, Their Guns Hall put into his Chest, & afterwards carried them to Small Point. About a Week after the Indians were killed, Hall & his Son said that they would go to Virginia."…
