They captured a lieutenant, three privates, and five horses. States, "All quiet out there - Great destitution." Mentions that Confederate General John B. Floyd is believed to be at Tazewell. Includes reports of rebels in Pennsylvania, and the burning of Chambersburg, which forced 3000 inhabitants out into the world without "house or home."
