Title: Inventory of furniture belonging to Mrs. Manson

List of furniture and utensils belonging to a Mrs. Manson that was retained for the use of the 3rd Provisional Brigade, General Eliakim P. Scammon's unit. Lists furniture and other items in the General's office, Quarter Master's Office, dining room, kitchen and beds with bedding. List is the same as GLC 2414.177, though .177 is identified only as an inventory of furniture.

List of furniture and utensils belonging to a Mrs. Manson that was retained for the use of the 3rd Provisional Brigade, Colonel Eliakim Scammon's unit. Lists furniture and other items with the number of each and the value. List is the same as GLC 2414.177, and GLC 2414.178. On page two is a short list of items specifically for Colonel Scammon, including a washstand, bowl and pitcher, arm chair, and a small looking glass.

"List of property taken from Mrs. E.A. Tyre --- at different times, since the 15th of November 1861 by the 3rd Provl Brigade." Lists includes one horse, 20 sheep, 6 hogs, wagons, wheat, flax and other sundries. Eliakim P. Scammon was Colonel of the 3rd Brigade.

Brooks' thoughts on the 2nd Regiment and their courage during the Battle of Sharpsburg. Describes his feelings towards General George B. McClellan whom he admires greatly. Written from Camp at Belle Plain Landing, Virginia.

Provides an illustration and description of Union and Confederate battle formations including skirmish lines, lines of battle for infantry, batteries, and reserves. Mentions his promotion to orderly sergeant, and details the duties associated with this job. Describes his camp at Belle Plain Landing in Virginia, where this letter was written.

Mentions that Lieutenant General Ulysses Grant was not at the review of the corps, and that he did not "see our great General."
