Certifies that George Pratt, gunner of the sloop Shark, has given an account of the expense of gunner's shares from 6 May to 19 November 1776. A note on second page, signed by Robinson N. Bowman, states that the certificate for Pratt is on the other side and informs that Mrs. Pratt will call on him for her marriage certificate. Also mentions paying a man named Clark his wages.

Title: [Regimental petition of Patrick Leland]

Petition stating that Leland was discharged from Lord Blakeney's regiment and recommended to the British Royal Bounty of Chelsea, but was taken prisoner by the enemy. He was a prisoner in Port au Prince, Haiti for 7 months, and then was sent home by Governor Moore in Jamaica by ship. He did duty as a marine for 4 months. Requests his pay. Lord Blakeney possibly refers to Baron William Blakeney, lieutenant-governor and lieutenant-general of Minorca in 1747.

First note signed by Shed, second by William Cave, and the third signed with a mark by Joseph Abbott. The first note states the goods were received of Joseph Noyes for 10 men belonging to the State Brig Hazard. Second note states the goods were received from Noyes for Cave and three men belonging to the Monmouth. The third states the goods are for Abbott and the men of the ship Sally.

Ships listed include the Hector People, Black Prince, the Warren, the Putnam, the Monmouth, and sundry vessels. The Penobscot Expedition (July-August 1779) was a failed American offensive against the British fortress at Penobscot (present-day Maine).

Phillips states that it is increasingly important that Captain Willoe go to Canada. Requests passports be granted for Willoe, two servants, and three women to sail to Halifax with a Flag of Truce. He wants Heath to get a passport that will admit the vessels into port and asks him to advise what papers Willoe needs in order to prevent being taken as a prize by a privateer ship. Phillips was a British general, and Heath was a Continental general.

Cooke informs Hand that Thomas Neill, a sergeant of an independent company in Wyoming, Pennsylvania, has acted as clerk to the Quartermaster's Department under Cooke's assistant Lord Butler from 1778 to 1780. Requests that he retain Neill's services for another two months so he may finish settling his books. Note on near bottom states his request was granted until May 20. Hand was a brigadier general in the American Revolution. Cooke signed as late Deputy Quarter Master General.

Letter written by McMichael as a Loyalist Captain in the British Army. As a lieutenant in the Continental Army he deserted from his post at Fort Schuyler in August 1776 to join the British. McMichael was taken prisoner out of a flag of truce at Elizabethtown, probably on April 9, 1781. Lieutenant Samuel Seely of the New Jersey militia was then sent behind British lines, probably to work out a prisoner exchange.
