Title: [Manual of marching maneuvers]

Hand bound notebook containing detailed instructions for marching maneuvers. In one half of the notebook, Renshaw has written out instructions for the loading, firing and inspection of arms. When flipped over, the other half of the notebook contains instructions for various maneuvers -- for example, sections titled "To Break into Column of Platoons from a halt" and "To change directions towards Guide." This side of the booklet also includes two unlabeled lists of men's names. Written in pen and pencil and sewn in the middle with black thread.

Anderson, a Confederate Brigadier General, resigned his position in 1862 to serve in ordinance.

Jeffrey apologizes to Aaron and explains that that what "...in ordinary times would have cost 50 or 60 Doll[ar]s...I wil pay almost 200 for them [now]..." Also, comments on traitors operating covertly in Savanah, the Yankees having a heavy artillery gun that is shelling Charleston, and hopes that General Bragg's Army of the Tennessee is larger than reported.
