4 October 1859
Higgins, Patrick, fl. 1859-1862
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Fannie Schoonmaker
Would prefer to see her in person than respond to her with a letter. Feels lonely and has "nobody to cheer me." Is thinking of her and things in their past. Hopes that she does not reminisce all the time, but reminds her that she "promised me that you would think of them." Hopes that she is well. Asks her to tell him everything about life back home. Says his family has company from Monticello visiting them. Tells her to "depend on me" and write back soon.
