One letter from William J. Myers to Mary Rose Myers dated December 10, 1942. William writes that he is broke and asks Mary Rose to send him some money. He also lets her know that he starts school on Monday. While he would love to see her he will only be free about 3 hours a day, so it is up to her if she wants to visit. He says that if she does visit she should be sure to visit her relatives and Ray. William signs the letter as "Tex."

One letter from William J. Myers to Mary Rose Myers dated December 14, 1942. This letter is written on Key Field, Mississippi letterhead but the return address is Madison, Wisconsin. William writes that the base is in an uproar because fifty percent of the squadron is sick with measles, scarlet fever, and pneumonia. So far he has not gotten sick but the two barracks on either side have both gotten sick and quarantined. He predicts the whole base will be down by next week.
