Moe received a letter from Marge, and recalls the sweater Mom was knitting that she eventually gave to Sylvia. He cannot think of anything to ask for.

Moe refers to a "situation" regarding Uncle Ben in which they forgot to ask Sylvia something and not wanting to offend her are doing their best not to anger her. The only way she can prove she's not slighted is to "attend the function."

Moe notes that Sylvia did not eat turkey for Thanksgiving. He, himself, had turkey but her meal sounded superior. He feels grateful that so many family and friends remembered their anniversary.

Moe went to his favorite place, the English-Speaking Union. Afterwards, he was walking when suddenly he bumped into an elderly gentleman, but no harm done.
