Knox writes, "I have the goodness to deliver Mr. John Davis the deed of relinquishment to the State of other lands, and receive from him the deed of Mr. Thomas Davis to me in behalf of the State." Knox also sends his wife's signature on a paper Peirce had sent to him. Writing is very faded and the paper is very thin.

Two parts. First part from Samuel Ogden. Sends regards to Knox's children who have recovered from the measles. Writes about work done for a ship and land on the St. Lawrence river. Mentions that Mr. [Gouverneur] Morris "will be authorized to sell a part of our shares..." Second part from Mrs. Euphemia Morris Ogden. Sends her love to Mrs. Lucy Knox and says that she will write to her presently. Says all the Massachusetts electors are "good Men & staunch Federalists." Written at Delaware Works, located in what is now Morrisville, Pennsylvania, near Trenton, New Jersey.

Writes that "M. Poisé secretary to General de Lafayette during the latter part of the American war has received a commission of captain as a reward" for his service. His work was equal to that of an officer and should therefore be allowed into the Society of the Cincinnati. "Madam de la Lafayette has been the intermediary" but she has not had a response yet from George Washington. Inquires after Lt. Col. Peter Regnier who led a New York infantry. His family has not heard from him since 1783 when he was supposed to have been in the West Indies but set to return to New York.

States there was a mix up at the bank as a Mr. Delafield had subscribed on the name Thomas Randall, but that the matter was settled in his favor. Will bring the certificates to New York.
