Sid Lapidus
Sid Lapidus received a BA in American History from Princeton University in 1959 and a JD from Columbia University Law School in 1962. He is a retired partner of Warburg Pincus LLC, a leading private equity firm, where he spent forty years. Lapidus is chair of the American Jewish Historical Society and a trustee of the New-York Historical Society, and has served for many years on the advisory council of the Princeton University History Department. In 2014, he and his wife established the Lapidus Center for the Historical Analysis of Trans-Atlantic Slavery at the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.
