At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

One newspaper clipping sent by Lula Dyer to Robert E. Dyer with a letter dated August 11, 1944. Clipping contains two articles. The first article is the death notice of Sing T. Don on June 29th. The second article is entitled "Robinson Files Blanket Denial to Suspension" which is concerning the suspension of Roy Robinson from the Tucson police department on August 3rd.
