Lincoln Speaks Virtual Lecture Series

In partnership with the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum
We are pleased to invite K–12 educators to participate in a series of virtual lectures live-streamed from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois, from August 2 to 6, 2021. These lectures will be offered in conjunction with a small in-person program being held onsite at the Library, and we are excited to welcome teachers from all over the world to learn with us (virtually) in Springfield.
The Lincoln Speaks Symposium will be led by Dr. Michael Burlingame (Chancellor Naomi B. Lynn Distinguished Chair in Lincoln Studies, University of Illinois, Springfield). Over the course of five days, registered teachers will participate in a series of virtual lectures focusing on Lincoln’s intellectual, moral, psychological, and political evolution.
Lectures will be streamed over Zoom and virtual participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. The full lecture schedule can be found below.

Teachers must be enrolled in the Gilder Lehrman Institute’s free Affiliate School Program to register.
Teachers will automatically be registered for all of the lectures. Professional development credits will be provided based on attendance. Teachers must attend a full session to receive credit.
Participants will be provided with Gilder Lehrman digital resources and a list of optional readings for each session.
