Muster roll of Captain Dan Mason, Company H, Nineteenth Regiment United States Colored Troops, commanded by Colonel Joseph Perkins, while stationed at Chapin's Farm, Virginia. Pre-printed form completed in manuscript, with signatures on verso by Capt. Mason and Col. Thomas Sedgwick of the 114th United States Colored Troops. The 19th U.S.C.T. was comprised of African Americans form southern and eastern Maryland, a large number of whom were recruited as slaves.
