At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Sylvia went to the Draft Board, interviewed a schizophrenic type who is "anxious, pessimistic and self deprecating." She hopes she can get her "B" gasoline ration status back because of her connection with the Draft Board. Reports that most people are optimistic there will be an early victory. Can't understand why he is not receiving the PM subscription she has sent him.
