One engraving entitled "Battle of Wilson's Creek-Fall of General Lyon" circa 1861-1877. Depicts hand-to-hand combat between Union and Confederate forces during the Battle of Wilson's Creek, August 10, 1861. In the center of the painting, a mortally wounded General Nathaniel Lyon grasps his chest as he falls from his horse into the outstretched arms of a fellow solider. Engraved by Henry Bryan Hall after a painting by Felix Octavius Carr Darley. Caption notes "engraved expressly for Abbott's Civil War."
