He is in the 1st Brigade, 1st Division of the 11th Army Corps. commanded by General Harvard [?] Harrison, who is a nephew of former United States President William Henry Harrison. Colonel Dustan does not like this and is trying to get the regiment enlisted as veterans. He has not re-enlisted yet as no one is sure if the regiment will go home on a furlough. Asks for a few items from home and writes that he has received a letter from his friend as well. He has yet to receive even a mark upon his face and tells the recipient[s] not to worry.
