Anderson was on the staff of E.K. Smith and at one point was ordered to procure arms for Cherokee Indian troops fighting for the Confederacy. Details the fall of Boggy Depot to Union troops the previous day, and faces the reality of the fall of the Confederate government. In part: "the general has concluded best to go present to Blue where much of our lost government property can be gathered...." May describe movements of Confederate Cherokee. With pass for Lieut. Turner dated 7/16/1865 guaranteeing safe passage through the Union lines. The document shows water damage. Turner was former aide-de-camp to General Douglas H. Cooper. Rebel Archives stamp
