A letter titled "From the North" observes the views of different Northern ministers contending for the truth and providing hope for the North. Didactic articles on various religious topics include "Generic Affection," "The Christian Soldier," and "Human Inperfection." "Notes on the Times" reports updates on Charleston and Union losses in Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Tennessee; the paper predicts the War will end with a Confederate victory that year.
