Shows debarking British troops in a highly imaginative setting. Hand-colored engraving, in watercolor, by Francois Xaver Habermann. Title in French and German. Full title: "[German] Die Anlandung der Englischen Troupen zu Neu Yorck." and "[French] Debarquement des Troupes engloises [sic] a nouvelle Yorck". The French title at top center has been printed backwards, in the manner of a "Vue d'Optique." From the "Collection des Prospects" (LC-USZ62-45372). Part of a series of Vues d'Optique printed at Augsburg; other prints in the series include New Yorkers pulling down George III's statue (GLC06952) and fire in New York (GLC07754).
