At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

An important letter written in the third person calling a meeting of the other ministers at his home the next day at 11. The points for discussion are passports for British and American vessels and preparations "for signature of the definitive Treaty." Adams has written the address leaf in French. With attractive red seal, and docket by John Jay.
