As major general, oval bust portrait. Ink inscription on recto "U. S. Grant Lieutenant General of the United States of America." Graphite inscription on verso "50-." Photographers imprint on verso: "T.F. Saltsman, Photographer, Cor. Union & College Sts., Nashville, Tenn." Cancelled blue two-cent tax stamp on verso.
