The outer walls of the fort extend across the image, bordered at its base by the outer wooden stockade. There is a lone man in the center of the image and a cannon is barely visible between the center mounds of sand of the fortification in the background. Inscription on verso: "Gardner." Numeric notations on verso: "XXII" and "297." Nearly identical photo can be seen in .0549.
