Captain Buell writes to Major Trescott of the 2nd U.S. Infantry about Trescott sending troops to join Buell, who was on his way to Middletown, Connecticut: "I hope you have at Springfield some good non Commissioned officers, as I shall have some rough fellows to go with me as Could have bin Inlisted perhaps this side of the other World." Also discusses an order for money. Trescott resigned his commission later that year and went on to found Trescott, Maine. Damaged where the seal has been removed causing minor text loss.
