Hagner, a clerk in the accountant's office of the War Department, writes to inform Captain Bryant that he is sending him his salary from April - June 1798 "and sundry Vouchers for expenditures in the ordnance department." Written from the "Accountants' Office." Free frank signed by James McHenry (Secretary of War) and stamped "Free" on address leaf.
