At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Balance sheet recording the debt and credit of Hendrick Hanse. Covers a range of dates from 1707 to 1719. With note on p.2 signed by Hanse, 9 April 1722, Albany, in which he acknoledges receipt of the balance from Philip Livingston. Docketed on verso.
